"Kathy's work is a study of the imminence of nature and a reverence for life. In her studio, amidst the rough-hewn streets of New York City a dichotomy exists. Outside the gray untidy business of these New York streets, people work in an environment that could be described as acrid and filled with contradictions....inside Kathy's studio hang giant green leaves with faces and human forms merging in a motion of congruity. Underlying Kathy's work is a mystifying reality. Most of America perceives the natural world as a hostile place separate from the idea of itself. It is a delightful to witness the work of an American artist who knows that as human beings we must embrace "mother earth" with the same openess that she embraces us. Art is not only a mirror...it is a language that exemplifies being." Lance Henson, a Cheyenne poet.
